Presentation

Each gram cream contains Urea BP 100 mg.

Description

Urea has a therapeutic effect in chronic dry skin conditions through its hydrating, keratolytic and anti-pruritic properties.

Indications

Eudrate cream is indicated for the topical treatment of ichthyosis and hyperkeratotic skin conditions associated with eczema and other chronic dry skin conditions.

Dosage & Administration

Eudrate cream is applied topically. Wash affected areas well, rinse off all traces of soap, dry, and apply sparingly twice daily.

Side Effects

May produce local irritations (including erythema, burning or pruritus) and oedema when applied to sensitive, moist or fissured skin.

Precautions

Avoid application to moist or broken skin.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy category B: Animal reproduction studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus; however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. It should only be used if the anticipated benefits outweigh the risks.

Drug Interaction

Eudrate may increase the penetration through the skin barrier of other topically applied medicaments.

Over Dose

Topical applications of excessive amounts of Eudrate might cause skin irritation. Ingestion of a large amount of Eudrate would be expected to result in gastrointestinal irritation (nausea and vomiting). Symptomatic and supportive care should be given.
