TricomixTM Soft Gelatin Capsule: Each Tricomix vaginal soft gelatin capsule contains Metronidazole BP 200mg, Neomycin Sulfate USP 35000 IU, Polymyxin B Sulfate USP 35000 IU & Nystatin BP 100000 IU.
Description
TricomixTM soft gelatin capsule is a combination of Metronidazole, Neomycin, Polymyxin B and Nystatin for vaginal use only. Metronidazole, a nitroimidazole, is active against various anerobic bacteria and protozoa. Nystatin is a polyene antibiotic with antifungal activity. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside. lt is bactericidal and active against some gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Polymyxin is active against gram-negative organisms including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Indications
Vaginal trichomoniasis, vaginal leucorrhoeas, mixed vaginal infections (Fungal or Bacterial).
Dosage & Administration
One soft gelatin capsule in vagina at bedtime for 12 days, or as directed by the physician.
It is best to use this product at bedtime. Lying down will reduce leakage of the medication from the vagina.
1. Wash the hands well with soap and dry. Pick up one capsule from the pack.
2. Lie on the back with the knees bent upward and spread apart. 3. Push the capsule into the vagina through finger as deeply as is comfortable.
4. Always wash the hands with soap and warm water afterwards.
Side Effects
Skin rash, urticaria may occur rarely.
Precautions
Caution should be taken in case of renal impairment.
Use in Pregnancy & Lactation
Caution should be practiced in pregnancy and lactation.
Storage
Do not store above 30 oC. Keep away from light & moisture and out of the reach of children.
