Felbo Gel(Felbinac BP)

Therapeutic Group: Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory

Presentation

Felbo™ Gel: Each gram gel contains Felbinac BP 30 mg.

Description

Felbinac is a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with pronounced anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. NSAIDs, including Felbinac, reduce pain principally by inhibiting formation of prostaglandins, leukotrienes and free oxygen radicals. Felbinac blocks cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes activity, which is responsible for converting arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. Felbinac is a potent, non-selective inhibitor of COX-1 and COX-2 (preferentially COX-2), which may underlie both its therapeutic efficacy and potential side effects. Additionally, Felbinac has been found to exhibit antioxidant properties, which further contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects. Felbinac scavenges free radicals, thereby reducing oxidative stress and tissue damage. This dual mechanism of action-COX inhibition and antioxidant activity-makes Felbinac a potent agent in the management of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders.
