In low doses, it is also used as an antihypertensive agent. Indications and Uses Torasemide is indicated for- 1.The management of edema of cardiac, renal and hepatic origin. 2.The management of hypertension, as a sole therapeutic agent or in combination with 3.Other classes of antihypertensive agents. Dosage and Administration Adults Edema: The usual oral dose is 5 mg once daily, preferably in the morning. If necessary, the dose can be increased stepwise up to 20 mg once daily. Aminoglycosides:Torasemide may increase the ototoxicity of aminoglycosides. Corticosteroides: Increment of risk of hypokalemia.
